Mardi Gras Magic Takes Over Downtown St. Marys

Sunday in Downtown St. Marys was nothing short of magical as the Mardi Gras Jubilee transformed the waterfront into a vibrant celebration of community, culture, and color. Families, friends, and visitors gathered at the beautiful St. Marys Waterfront Park to enjoy an afternoon packed with entertainment, tradition, and unforgettable moments.

From the moment guests arrived, the energy was undeniable. Purple, green, and gold beads filled the air, laughter echoed across the park, and the sounds of a live DJ kept the celebration moving. The popular Beads & Brews beer garden offered the perfect place to relax and soak in the festive atmosphere, while local food trucks served up crowd favorites that kept everyone fueled for the fun.

Families found plenty to enjoy throughout the park. Pirate-themed activities brought extra flair thanks to the St. Marys Pirates Club, and games for all ages created a true carnival-style experience. Of course, no Mardi Gras celebration would be complete without king cake — and there was plenty to go around, continuing a sweet tradition that ties St. Marys to the spirit of New Orleans.

One of the standout experiences of the day included interactive attractions like the virtual golf simulator provided by The Yard, giving festivalgoers something unique to enjoy alongside the classic festivities. Meanwhile, guests captured lasting memories throughout the park thanks to Riel Deal Photobooth Rentals LLC, ensuring that the smiles, costumes, and colorful moments will be remembered long after the beads are packed away.

Events like the Mardi Gras Jubilee wouldn’t be possible without strong community partnerships. A heartfelt thank you goes to St. Marys Public Works, St. Marys Fire Department, and St. Marys Police Department for helping make the event safe, smooth, and successful. And of course, appreciation goes out to all of the sponsors and volunteers who continue to invest in bringing vibrant events to Downtown St. Marys.

As the sun began to set over the water, the excitement was still building. With Fat Tuesday Fest and the illuminated parade just around the corner, the Jubilee was the perfect kickoff to a week of celebration.

Downtown St. Marys once again proved that when this community comes together, something special happens.

Let the good times roll. 💜💚💛
