A bright new shopping destination is taking shape in Downtown St. Marys, Georgia, bringing several locally owned businesses together in one colorful, walkable setting. The Cottage Shops of St. Marys, located at 715 Osborne Street, will bring several small businesses together in a collection of colorful cottage-style storefronts designed to create a fun, walkable shopping experience. Created by local business owner Mary Durkin of Hello Mary Gifts & More, the new development adds another unique destination for residents and visitors exploring downtown.
One Stop, Several Local Shops
Rather than one traditional storefront, the Cottage Shops create a small retail village where shoppers can move from cottage to cottage and discover something different behind each door. The businesses represented at the new location include Hello Mary, Accentuate Jewelry & Accessories, Because Kids,Swede Dreams Candy Co., Lily’s Loaded Teas, and Just a Little Gift.That means visitors will be able to browse clothing, jewelry and accessories, gifts and sweet treats, then grab a loaded tea or protein shake — all without leaving the property.
Adding More Color to Downtown St. Marys
The cottages themselves are hard to miss. Bright blues, yellows, pinks, greens and other vibrant colors line the central walkway, while individual hanging signs give each business its own personality. A white picket fence and large Cottage Shops entrance sign complete the small-village atmosphere. It is a concept that feels right at home in St. Marys: locally focused, inviting and a little different from the traditional shopping center.
