Pete the Cat Creator James Dean Visits St. Marys for Special Book Signing!

Downtown St. Marys was filled with excitement and smiles this week as beloved children’s book author and illustrator James Dean, the creator of Pete the Cat, visited for a special book signing. Families and young readers gathered to meet the man behind the famous blue cat whose adventures have captured the hearts of millions.

Hosted by The Golden Pineapple (105 W Bryant St, St. Marys, GA) and Once Upon A Bookseller, the event was a joyful celebration of stories, art, and community. Children left with signed copies of their favorite Pete the Cat books and unforgettable memories of meeting the author himself.

For many kids, Pete’s positive, can-do attitude has been a source of inspiration, and seeing James Dean in person made that connection even more magical. Parents and grandparents also enjoyed the opportunity to share the moment, snapping photos and joining in the fun.
